Protecting the Hargila, together.

Dr. Purnima Devi Barman’s work brings people together around the greater adjutant stork and the habitat it shares with communities in Assam.

Known locally as Hargila, the greater adjutant stork has nesting sites close to people’s homes and shared landscapes. Purnima’s conservation work connects the bird’s future with the participation of the people who live alongside it.
