Who actually is Purnima?

For Dr. Purnima Devi Barman, conservation is rooted in people, place and our connection with nature. Her journey with the Hargila—the Greater Adjutant Stork of Assam—began with a desire to understand and protect a bird that had long been overlooked.

Over the years, her work has brought communities, especially women, together to care for the Hargila and its habitat, connecting science with community and conservation with culture.
